Charlotte Silver [BMus, PGCE, QTS]

Charlotte is a highly experienced tutor specialising in maths and science. She has worked for private families from across the world over the past twelve years, after completing her teacher training at Dulwich College, London. She has successfully prepared students for 9+, 11+ and 13+ entrance exams to a range of schools within the UK, as well as providing unique and holistic tuition to students with specific requirements in schools internationally. She works with parents, psychologists and schools to create an all-round network aligned with student goals. She holds various qualifications to support those with SEND requirements, and puts student outcomes at the centre of her work. Charlotte has a background in the arts, which helps her to bring creativity to the mathematical teaching and appreciate an all-rounded perspective to learning.

Rachael Rayment [BA, MA]

Rachel is an accomplished English tutor with a background in theatre. After studying at the American Repertory Theatre Institute at Harvard University and the Moscow Art Theatre, she taught undergraduate classes in theatre at Harvard University, receiving a certificate of teaching excellence. She also created and led an undergraduate course in Dramaturgy between 2011-2013 at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She has considerable experience in ISEB, CAT 4 and entrance exam preparation to top schools including Eton, Winchester and Wycombe Abbey amongst others. Rachael has qualifications specific to those with English as an additional language and welcomes the challenges and rewards that come with improving spoken and written language. Through her empathy and creativity, she enables students from a range of backgrounds and abilities to flourish to their potential.

Jackie Eminsang [BSc (Hons), PGCE, QTS]

Jackie is a qualified secondary school teacher and experienced one-to-one tutor with over 15 years of teaching expertise, specialising in Mathematics and Statistics. She has taught across Key Stages 2 to 5 in both state and independent schools and has a proven track record of successfully preparing students for 11+ entrance exams, GCSE and A-Level assessments. In addition to her teaching and tutoring work, Jackie has been a GCSE and A-Level examiner for multiple exam boards, giving her valuable insight into effective exam techniques, marking criteria and strategies to help students maximise their performance.

Passionate about ensuring mathematics is accessible to all, Jackie works tirelessly to break down barriers to learning—particularly for students who are anxious or maths-phobic. She strives to promote a love of numbers and helps students build confidence through calm, patient and supportive tuition.

With a wealth of experience and a passion for making maths meaningful, Jackie uses real-life examples to bring the subject to life in a creative, dynamic and engaging way. Her empathetic and imaginative teaching style allows students from a range of backgrounds and abilities to flourish and achieve their full potential.

Alan McKenna [BSc, PGCE]

Alan McKenna is a passionate and experienced chemistry tutor with a strong background in both academic and pastoral roles. When he left Queen’s University, Belfast (BSc (Hons), PGCE) he taught in a variety of environments (Belfast Royal Academy, Kuwait English School, Purcell School for Young Musicians) and roles (Head of Chemistry, Boarding Housemaster). All of which gives him a breadth of experience essential for tutoring. 

His teaching style is patient, approachable and tailored to each student’s learning style. He focuses on building strong foundational understanding, problem solving skills and confidence.

Sophie Chevretton

Sophie Chevretton has been tutoring for 5 years and is our reasoning specialist. She also covers mathematics and sciences. Currently studying engineering at a top 10 UK university, she combines strong technical ability with a relatable, student-centred teaching style. Her age allows her to connect easily with students and understand how they think, which helps her tailor lessons in a way that’s both effective and engaging. She has worked with students from age 6 to 16 level on a range of subjects and uses current digital tools to elevate student outcomes. Her enthusiasm for her subjects alongside her growing experience allows her to challenge students to succeed and explore new ways to learn. She also heads our social media presence.

Matthew Potts [BSc, MSc]

Matthew is a Senior Staff Software Engineer at a global Fortune 100 financial services company, with over 12 years of experience building the technology that powers the modern world. He holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Business Management from the University of Sussex and has spent his career designing large-scale software systems and cutting-edge developer tools used by thousands of engineers.

Alongside his professional work, Matthew is passionate about helping young learners discover the excitement and creativity of coding. He has volunteered teaching programming to primary school children and has extensive experience mentoring junior developers and running coding bootcamps. His teaching approach is practical, engaging, and focused on building real-world problem-solving skills that last a lifetime.

Matthew understands that the world of technology is evolving rapidly - and that success goes beyond passing exams. He helps students not only achieve strong academic results in computer science examinations, but also develop curiosity, confidence, and the ability to think like engineers.
